If you’re renovating a home in the New Jersey area, it’s tempting to make the upgrade to marble counters in the kitchen. Why is marble the go-to surface for elevating your cooking space? Whether you choose elegant slab or more practical tiles, there’s no question that the space will immediately feel chicer. There are a few more questions to answer beyond the size and price when choosing your new kitchen counters, though. We’ll cover the process of selecting the ideal marble color for your space.

Classic Marble for a Classy Space

Carrara is definitely the most recognizable color and pattern. If you were hoping to have your efforts appreciated by any guests or friends, let’s just say that carrara may be the way to go. A big perk is that it has beautiful veining that doesn’t distract the eye too much. You can see in the image above how the space looks clean and calm when paired with cooler white and grey tones.

If you want to go even less obtrusive with the pattern, consider bianco dolmite as well. It has that same cool white color with less patterning to it.

Warm Marble for a Tuscan Kitchen

Though the white kitchen is very in vogue at the moment, not everyone loves walking into one at the end of a long day. Luckily, there are a number of alternative styles that allow for warmer marble tones to rule the day. The Tuscan-inspired one above would look beautiful with a nice travertine or a cream Marfil countertop.

Warm colors make a cooking space feel loved and well-used, taking the chill out of an all-white room. Once you open yourself up to those color schemes, you’ll find that there are fewer limits on the rest of the space.

High Pattern Wow Factor

We’ll admit, this one is pretty hard to pull off. But when it works, it really works. This equator marble has strong, largely unidirectional lines making it difficult to plan around. If you’re the type to be bothered by a little bit of asymmetry here or there, then this might not be the one for you. But if you want the marble to act as the focal point of the room, you can get away with simple designs for the rest of the space.

If you’re thinking of a kitchen renovation with marble counters in the East Brunswick area, keep these color questions in mind.
