It’s that time of year again in East Brunswick! The kids are gearing up for Summer vacation. The adults are making plans to entertain them somehow for a few months. And the free-wheeling singles are traveling to visit. All kidding aside, Spring is a great time to get your home ready for some house guests. Switching out your worn and old bathroom accessories to swap for new serves many purposes. With the lightest remodeling touch, you can get both form and functionality in spades. Whether you’re designing a guest bathroom or treating yourselves (to stay sane), there are plenty of options that are affordable and useful.
The Robe Hook
There’s something about this that just says decadence. Okay, maybe we’re being a little dramatic here. But imagine a bathroom accessory that demands you start adding in more spa days at home. Pampering in a robe. This bathroom accessory even encourages each partner to have their own space for their things! Why? Let’s be honest here. No one likes piling items on the same hook only to have theirs crumple on the ground in a sodden heap 10 minutes later.
Toothbrush Holder
This one is just to cut down the ick factor if nothing else. Toothbrushes tend to get placed in every awkward place when you’re visiting friends or family. And if you’re lucky, they don’t get knocked off by the resident toddler. A mounted holder means that those bristles stay out of grasping baby fingers (and off the ground). The removable insert is easy to clean regularly, too. Your guests will be so grateful, trust us.
Extra Storage
Adding a floating shelf is a great way to make room for your guest’s items in the bathroom. Remember that they too come with items that need real estate, so adding a bathroom accessory to accommodate their toiletries will be appreciated. You can even step it up a notch and add a few free-use toiletries to the shelf. Some travel sized toothpaste and hotel shampoo can really save a guest in a pinch. Heck, they could even save you if you forgot to pick soap up at the store that week!
A (Not Gross) Soap Dish
Speaking of soap, we have a bone to pick with whoever designs these difficult to clean soap dishes. No one wants a bathroom accessory that makes the room gross. A glass dish like the one above is easy to swipe clean in between bars. Even worse is the built-in shower with the tiniest lip to hold the soap in place. You almost have to play a light as a feather game to get the slippery bar to stay put. A round dish means no more frantic grabs for the perpetually falling soap.
